In the vibrant tapestry of the local Twin Cities electronic music community, one figure stands out as both a presence and a mystery. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for capturing the essence of moments, Farah is uncommonly seen in the spotlight, preferring instead to remain behind the lens. His elusive nature seems like a deliberate choice, adding to his enigmatic charm. While he is often present at the heart of local music events, his own image remains a rare and precious glimpse, much like a hidden gem in a sea of familiarity. His work speaks volumes, weaving stories through his photographs, but the person himself remains a captivating, unseen force—an artist whose greatest creation is the world they capture, not themselves.

This black-and-white photography project shines a light on Farah (Phriz da Beatz), a multifaceted artist whose talents span electronic DJing, spinning vinyl, and capturing evocative moments through his lens. Farah, renowned for his "deep crate-digging" skills and "soulful selection", brings a unique groove to everything he touches.

Curated by Saoirse Weiss, known in the creative spaces as Xpertempath, in collaboration with her spouse, Sarah Weiss, this project documents the vibrant energy of Communion, a local Minneapolis party steeped in underground techno history. Communion is celebrated for its eclectic mix of local, national, and international artists, making it a cornerstone of the techno and greater electronic music scene. As Communion embarks on its 18th season, this collection represents episode 12 of the ongoing series. Through these photographs, we capture the essence of a scene that thrives on innovation, rhythm, and community.
